Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to do something special with my daughter. I’m a sucker for a good arts and crafts project so we decided to create mommy and me floral headpieces.
I absolutely loved doing this craft with my daughter. It doesn’t require many materials and gave us some one-on-one time to spend together.

Here is a list of the materials needed to create your mommy and me floral headpieces:
Natural Coiled wire
Green floral tape
Long Nose Pliers
All of these materials can be found at any craft store. I purchased these materials at my local Michaels store.
Let’s get to crafting!
First, you want to make sure that you get an accurate measurement for the band to fit on your head.
Next, cut the wire with your pliers and secure the ends by tying them together. You now have the base of your headpiece.
Now that you have the frame of the headpiece, you want to cover the wire in the green floral tape. This is an important step because you want to make sure that the frame can safely stay on your head without scratching or pulling your hair.
Then, take your flowers and cut your flowers to the desired length and pre-arrange them in groups. I decided to mix the pale pink and yellow flowers together in my groups.
Now, take your group of flowers and bind them together with your floral tape. I have found that grouping the flowers together before putting them on the headpiece is easier than trying to individually place them.
Now, place the grouped flowers onto the headpiece using floral tape. Repeat the same steps for the second headpiece and voila… You’ve got two beautiful floral headpieces!
As an alternative, you can use a regular headband and attach your flowers using hot glue.
Happy Mother’s Day!
