Mother’s Day is a special time of celebration. It’s the one day in the year when we take a moment to acknowledge our mothers, grandmothers, and women who raised us. Nothing says “I love you, Mom,” like a day of relaxation and good food. What better way to celebrate than to host a beautiful Mother’s Day Brunch?
A Mother’s Day brunch is a wonderful way to give thanks to all the moms in your life. And also, brunch is an excellent way to spend quality time with your loved ones while enjoying delicious food and drinks.
Being a mom and having hosted many different kinds of parties over the years, I’m happy to share my tips and tricks on hosting a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch. So, let’s talk about how to host a brunch!
Create a Guest List & Determine the Location
It’s important to keep in mind who you’re inviting and how many people will be coming. If you’re hosting at home, make sure your kitchen and dining room can accommodate everyone and any other space you might need for serving and entertainment purposes.
You’ll want to ensure there are enough plates, glasses, utensils, and napkins for everyone attending your event.
Set The Menu
Brunch can be as simple or elaborate as you want it to be. For an intimate gathering with your mother, consider serving an omelet bar with all the toppings she loves (cheese, bacon, and avocado) along with fresh fruit and mimosas.

For larger parties, choose dishes that can be prepared ahead of time and served buffet-style. Some ideas include breakfast tacos with eggs, sausage, and cheese; French toast casseroles; quiche; baked oatmeal; and frittatas.
Pair these dishes with fresh fruit and muffins or pastries from the bakery section of your grocery store. Wine pairings are always a nice touch at special events like this one.
Brunch Table Setting
Preparing a casual yet elegant plate setting for a Mother’s Day brunch can be done with a few simple steps. The table setting is one of the first things people notice when they walk into your gathering. You want it to be beautiful and welcoming so that guests feel comfortable as soon as they come in.
Let your meal decide the specifics of the table setting. Only put out the flatware and dinnerware that your guests will need. Brunch is more of a casual meal, where people may even serve themselves, so a simplistic setup is best. I have put together a visual to help you get started.
Decide on the Decorations
Setting up the right decorations is one of the most important steps in creating an inviting atmosphere. Decorating can be hard when you’re hosting a party. You want everything to be perfect, but that can also mean a lot of work.
There are many ways to decorate for brunch without spending a ton of money or hours. Start by creating a color scheme that matches your table linens and napkins and extends to any flowers or other decor items used throughout the room. Floral centerpieces made of fresh flowers add a wonderful Spring vibe.

You can also use a white tablecloth with napkins folded in half. Add colorful Spring flowers in vases or bowls on each end of the table and small candles in the center of each place setting.
Another option is votive holders or decorative plates on each plate setting.
Table runners are an easy way to add color without taking up too much space on the table. You can create one using colored paper or fabric scraps or buy one at any craft store or online retailer specializing in handmade goods.
They’re usually sold in multiple sizes, so you can choose one that fits perfectly on top of your table linens — whether it’s round, rectangular, or square-shaped. Now, you’re almost ready to host a beautiful Mother’s Day Brunch!
