You can’t think about Spring without immediately thinking about flowers. Adding flowers around the home will immediately change the feel of the room. Watch as the ambiance changes from dark and drab to warm and airy. I love adding flowers to various areas in my home, from our entryway to our bedroom.
Some flowers that are in bloom for Spring are lilies, daisies, tulips, cherry blossoms, and of course, roses. Flowers in water can vary in the length of time for freshness. Get creative and have some fun playing around with bouquets of different types of flowers to change the tone in your space. Struggling with fresh flower upkeep? Switch to faux flowers for simple styling.
In addition, an area that gets less attention but can be a way to freshen your home, is in your household items. From the hand soap in the bathroom to the cleaning products for your kitchen, don’t hesitate to switch up the fragrances you use.
Flowers aren’t the only way to bring the outdoors indoors. Adding greenery can liven up any space within your home. In fact, studies even suggest that plant life within your home has actual health benefits and makes you overall a happier person. Who wouldn’t like that?!
AIRY LAYERS AND TEXTURES
Winter is known for its thick and fuzzy textures. As we move into Spring though, it is out with the old and in with the new. Swap out throw pillows, heavy blankets, bedding, and curtains for items with a softer and lighter feel. For your curtains, consider adding sheer panels to your windows, letting in all the daylight we’ve waited so long for.
BRIGHTEN THE SCENE WITH COLORS AND PATTERNS
Spring is nothing without the introduction of a whole world of colors. Whether it’s muted pastels or bright and bold spring colors, Springtime is the moment to experiment with brighter and lighter shades. Adding colors to a room can make it pop in an instant.
Updating the pattern in a room can be a great way to freshen up a look. Updating or adding pillows with prints, wallpaper, or even artwork can enhance the look of a room and make a dramatic difference.
FRONT DOOR DECOR
Even before someone steps inside of your home, you can introduce them to the Springtime atmosphere. A beautifully placed wreath on the outside of the door can set the tone for the entire home. You can choose to purchase one that you can use over and over again or try your hand at a little DIY!
Let’s not forget about your doormat, too. While the rough, heavy-duty doormat was needed in the winter months, trade it in for a lighter mat that represents the season. I love to layer floor mat to add texture and interest to our front entrance
DECORATE WITH SEASONAL FRUITS AND ENJOY!
Using colorful fruits to decorate your home will bring in the essence of Spring in a unique way. Fruits like lemons, oranges, and avocados are great to display because not only are the colors bright, but they can double as real snacks and ingredients you use in everyday life. I always love a good multi-purpose decor idea. This is an incredibly simple and affordable way to bring in the Spring season.
