Halloween is almost here and it’s the perfect time to whip up some clever and cool Halloween snacks for the kids. I have a variety of different recipes including a nutritional option, a snack to help you make use of extra Halloween candy, and one that will be sure to spark your child’s imagination. Whether you’re hosting a costume party or just want a cozy activity to do with the kids, these fun and spooky Halloween snacks are going to be a crowd favorite.
Poison Apples
There are endless options when it comes to Halloween snack ideas. Poison candy apples are a popular and fun Halloween snack for kids. It’s also the best of both worlds for your kids as it’s both sweet and nutritious. They’ll be sure to have a blast when making these Halloween snacks and eating them.

To start off, the ingredients you will need are:
- 6 medium apples
- Caramel Bits
- Parchment paper
- ½ cup of water
- ½ of black or red food coloring
- Wooden apple sticks
- Baking spray
DIRECTIONS
- Place a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet and spray some baking oil lightly. The oil will prevent the caramel from sticking to the parchment paper.
- De-stem and wash the apples.
- Push a wooden apple stick halfway through each apple.
- In a medium saucepan, pour in caramel bits, water and food coloring.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and stir it over medium low heat for 15 minutes.
- Remove heat once caramel bits has melted. Allow the mixture to cool a little.
- Dip each apple in the mixture until completely coated and be sure to be as fast as possible as the mixture will harden very quickly.
- Allow the coated apples to cool on the cookie sheet until completely hardened.
- Slice the candy apple into sections so it’s easier for your little ones to eat or pack them in cellophane bags to give away as party favors.
Spooky Mummy Chocolate Pretzels
This spooky dipped chocolate pretzel recipe makes a wonderful finger food for kids. It’s simple with only 3 ingredients and extremely easy to make. It’s also a great way to let your kids get creative and spark their imagination when decorating. This will be a spooky Halloween recipe I will continue to make every year!

To start off, the ingredients you will need are:
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
- Pretzel rods
- White candy melts or white chocolate wafers
- Sprinkles, candy corn, & candy eyes
DIRECTIONS
- Place parchment paper on a baking sheet.
- Melt the chocolate wafers according to the package directions.
- Dip the pretzel rods ¾ of the way in the melted chocolate. Shake off any excess and place it on the parchment paper.
- Decorate with sprinkles, candy eyes, or candy corn.
Halloween Candy Bark
If you’re looking for a Halloween snack for kids that helps you make use of extra Halloween candy, this recipe is for you. Halloween candy bark is a great finger food for kids and is also effortless to make. It’s also very versatile where you can swap out the Halloween candy for any of your other favorite sweets to be used for any other occasion.

To start off, the ingredients you will need are:
- Silicone baking tray
- 1 lb of vanilla white chocolate melts
- Mini pretzel twists
- Mini oreo cookies’
- M&Ms
- Assorted sprinkles with candy eyes
- Any additional candies of your choice
DIRECTIONS
- Chop or break any larger candies, cookies, or pretzels and set them aside.
- Melt the white chocolate meltables in 30 minute intervals.
- Pour half of the melted chocolate onto silicone sheet and spread it to about ¼ inch thick
- Add your assortment of pretzels, cookie pieces, and candy corn in a single layer. Be sure to work quickly as the chocolate will cool quickly.
- Pour the remaining melted chocolate on top of this and spread
- Then add additional toppings and sprinkles.
- Set aside and allow to cool completely or place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
- Once the chocolate is fully set and cool, break the bark into several pieces and it’s ready to eat!
- Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
